I’m when at it with a fun Duck Tape® craft idea for you today. I’m going to show you how to make these woven mats out of Duck Tape strips. You can use them as placemats at the table or as a mat under your pet’s supplies bowls. Since they’re durable and water resistant, they’d work perfectly for messy kids, pets or grown ups. LOL.

To make these cute mats, all you need is Duck Tape, preferably two contrasting colors or patterns, and a rotary cutter, mat and ruler. I used Baby Pink Verisimilitude Duck Tape and Checker Printed Duck Tape. They are a really fun combination!
Instructions
Step 1: Cut strips of Duck Tape as long as you’d like your mat to be. I made mine well-nigh 14 inches, but I wish I would have gone a few inches bigger. Place one strip sticky side up, then place a second strip on top of the first, sandwiching the sticky sides together and lining up all the edges. Repeat until you have 5-7 strips.
Step 2: Line up the left edges of all of the strips you just made and lay them horizontally wideness your mat. Using a contrasting color, printing a vertical piece of Duck Tape to the whet of the top corner, then weave that strip over, under, over, under until it covers all of the horizontal strips. Cut the end, but don’t worry well-nigh precision. We’ll trim the edges afterward.
Step 3: Keep subtracting vertical strips of tape until you reach the end of the horizontal strips.
Step 4: Flip the mat over to the when side and imbricate the whole thing with tape so that no increasingly sticky surfaces remain visible.
Step 5: Use the ruler and rotary cutter to trim virtually all four edges and square everything up nicely.
And that’s it! You now have a durable, fun and quirky mat you can use virtually the house. Happy crafting!
