Learn how to weave a basket out of Duck Tape.
I’m when with flipside Duck Tape craft today! This one is super cool, friends! I’m excited to show you how to make a woven basket out of Duck Tape. The unique thing well-nigh this basket is that it’s woven on the diagonal and has a cute zig zag whet withal the top. It’s SO fun. I’ve once made a tuft of them! And I’m going to walk you through every step. I moreover made a video tutorial so you can see exactly how it’s done.

Materials Needed
- Duck® Tape – Any Color or Pattern
- Duck Craft Paper Tape
- Duck Invisible Tape or Packing Tape
- Wooden Clothespins
- Scissors
Instructions
Step 1: Cut two 21 inch long piece of Duck Tape. Stick those two pieces together sticky sides in. Then cut those in half lengthwise so you have long, skinny strips. Repeat until you have twelve skinny strips total.
Step 2: Lay six strips lanugo horizontally, then weave the remaining six strips through vertically.
Step 3: Push them all tightly together and make sure all the edges are plane and the whole thing is centered.
Step 4: Use masking tape to make a diamond shape in the center. Fold the strips inward withal the edges of the diamond and make a good crease.
Step 5: Find a corner of the diamond and fold the two proximal strips together with the left strip on top of the right strip. Clip them together temporarily with a clothespin. Repeat for all four corners.
Step 6: Now you can start weaving. Find the pieces that go next to each other and weave over, under, over, under until everything starts to come together. Clothespins will be your weightier friend through this part. They alimony everything from unraveling.
Step 7: Once you’ve woven to the top of the basket, find the shortest pieces and they will determine the height of the overall basket.
Step 8: Fold the overlapping pieces together to make a point, trim yonder any excess, and secure with a piece of invisible tape.
Step 9: Remove the masking tape from inside and your basket is done!
I’m using it as a plant cozy. It’s waterproof and sturdy, so it’s really perfect to wrap virtually a plain pot.
