I attached my cans to a round board. You don’t have to do that, but I found it worked perfectly for my kitchen. It fits on the counter, adds neatness to the look, and keeps them all together in one place. You can make the cans alone and just put them directly onto a shelf, cabinet, or desk.

What Can I Use These Cans For?

These little containers are perfect for just about anything. Use them on the kitchen counter for serving spoons or ladles. I love using them in the bathroom to store makeup brushes, toothbrushes, or things like curling irons. You can even use them at work or in an office to hold pens, pencils or scissors.

Another option I really love is to use them to hold fake flowers or even real flowers. This would just be temporary as they do not watertight canisters. You could slip them into a bag, tie into tissue paper, or just use it to display a bouquet for a short time.

Can I Use Different Decorations?

Do I Have to Glue These to a Base?

No, you don’t have to glue them to a base. I like having them secured so they don’t fall over when I fill with heavier utensils. You can make these individually and use them in different rooms of your house by themselves, or keep together like this with a nice base for support. If you don’t add a base, you may want to only put shorter items into the cans. This will keep them from falling over like tall heavy items might.

How to Make Pringles Can Storage Containers

Measure and add a line to the can where you want to cut it to size.

Cut the chip can in half (or taller if preferred).

Spray paint the outside of the cans in your desired color, then set aside to dry.

Once the paint has dried, you can set them onto your board if you plan to use one, to see how you want them placed.

Wrap the bottom edge with burlap lace and glue it into place.

Repeat with the top edge of the can so you have lace on both edges and the middle open.

Add a strip of glue along the bottom edge of each can and place them onto the cutting board where you want them to remain.

Once they are in place, you will create a small bundle of the miniature flowers and glue those in place in the center of each can.

If desired, add a small clear bowl to the board in front of the canisters.

Use this to store pencils, pens, utensils, or even makeup brushes.
